Blood on the Scales

I never love BSG more than when it knocks me down, beats the shit out of me and breaks my heart into a billion tiny pieces. And that is what these last two episodes did.

Real Thoughts. Warning: Lengthy. )

The show put EVERY prominent secondary character (Seelix, Racetrack, Skulls, Narcho) on Team Gaeta/Zarek, but we're supposed to believe that Hot Dog somehow miraculously survived this disappointing characterization? It felt to me that having the last name Olmos kept him on Team Win

I can answer this, a bit. All of those others? Were military before the series began (whether big G crew, or survivors picked up in the mini or from Peggy). Hotdog was trained by Kara. He started as a civvie, and as such, still has some ties to that, I think.

Also, the idea of killing the president is something that would probably have given Racetrack pause, too (Lee's death made her uncomfy, after all).

Narcho served under Cain. You bet your ass he doesn't care who's in charge, as long as the Cylons are getting stomped ( ... )

That's a good point. I'm sure if Kat was still around, she would've been with the good guys also.

Yeah, Racetrack being on that side still doesn't sit totally right with me. She seems uncomfortable with it and I'm sure she wouldn't have liked the prospect of killing Laura.

The other characters make sense for me - Narcho, Seelix and like you said, we don't really know Skulls.

Wow, I almost forgot that Caprica helped her save Hera. *facepalm* That's the whole reason she's in the brig in the first place! Of course Athena should trust her! But the killing of Natalie b/c of the visions and Hera's Six obsession feels SO out of place. I feel like the writers forgot to connect to some dots there.

THIS IS THE KARA WE KNOW AND LOVE - THE ONE WHO IS WILLING TO DIE FOR THE PEOPLE SHE LOVES, the one who values the lives of her loved ones over her own life.

This is my favourite quality about Kara. She acts with her heart.

Last night, she was scared. Kara rarely shows her fear, but she was terrified of losing Sam The few times we've seen her truly terrified was when she was trapped in the farm and trapped with Leoben on NC. She was also terrified in Maelstrom but that was more of a quiet terror that she was losing control of her life. But the look on her face when Sam got shot and later when she was dragging his body around *guh* I had tears in my eyes too ( ... )

There hasn't been any real romantic chemistry between K/L since Six of One,

I think this is my problem with that ship. I'm obviously partial to Kara/Sam, but I love Kara/Lee in a totally different way. I don't doubt that she loves him...I think she loves him a lot, but just in a different way than she loves Sam. I like Kara/Lee best when they're being bffs and running around shooting people lol. But omgs, Katee and Michael just killed me in that scene! SO heartbreaking!

LOLZ Bimbo Six is pretty damn accurate! I think I'm going to call her that from now on. :P
