That's... the worst part of the nightmares. If you are injured while inside them, the damage will become very real.

[That made sense, at least. No wonder it felt so darn real. No normal nightmare could conjure up this sort of pain; at least that he knew of, anyway. Sleeping dreams weren't his specialty!]

...Everywhere, man. No rest for the - the escaped experiments, heh.

[The shooting seems to have slowed, almost like his nightmare can't continue past that point.]
