[The inside of the Banora Mines are seen followed by Genesis hitting the ground a loud THUD. Except he doesn't look as he normally does. Gone is his vibrant auburn hair, flawless skin, and bright mako blue eyes. He now has pure white hair, his skin is ashen and there are visible cracks along his face and neck, his eyes are a dull, dark gray. His

[The actual real general can't help but stare at this scene and despite the fact he knows it isn't real, it's still rather disturbing to watch and listen to. He's at something of a loss for words as the fight progresses until he decides he has to try and say something to possibly help, even if the fox might be the only one to actually heed him.]

Genesis. What you're experiencing...that isn't real..

[He pauses and after a second decides to actually try to speak with the fox, it was possible it could see the source of the nightmare and maybe destroy it...or so he hoped.]

Ea! Look for something which does not belong around Genesis, it is likely duck-shaped. When you find it, destroy it without allowing it to touch you.

[With that said, he could only hope the animal understood and was capable of the orders he'd given to her.]

[Genesis doesn't really hear the real Sephiroth since he's too engaged with the dream one, but Ea's ears perk when she hears Sephiroth. At first, she growls, not sure if this is a trick or not as the voices are exactly the same. But she eventually spots the phone and stealthy jumps down the ledge and grabs it, hiding behind a rock soon after. She listens to the instructions, setting the phone down to look for something duck shaped. The battle in the air can still be seen, Genesis was holding his own rather well despite his condition.]

[He keeps his silence until Ea and Cecil have destroyed the duck, concern for once obvious on his expression and the Espeon now half in the feed due to it curling up over his shoulders and neck trying it would seem to offer what it could of reassurance and comfort.]

Genesis?

[He's almost distressed enough to actually go about testing his ability to pilot one of those illogical ships himself to the world that the redhead is on.]

What, Sephiroth?

[Forgive him, Sephiroth, one of the symptoms of degradation is the loss of control over his emotions, especially anger.]

[ Cecil was on his way to Destiny Islands to meet Rosa and Rydia when he saw the video of Genesis. He didn't understand the dream, but it was clear enough that this was another hallucination. As there appeared to be no one else able to help the redhead, the paladin directed the gummi ship he was on to head towards the World That Never Was.

He has just arrived in the dark world when he catches the real Sephiroth's order to Genesis' fox companion regarding a duck-shaped object. The World That Never Was hasn't changed much since Cecil was last here, when he found Genesis regressed to his childhood not that long ago. He knows where his acquaintance lives, so he heads right for the other man's home. ]

[Despite what Genesis was dreaming, Ea was actually trying to nudge Genesis awake who was tangled up in his bed sheets. Occasionally, she would fire blast the rubber duckie but it bounced away every time.

When she hears the door open, she growls. She was going to protect Genesis!]

[ The white knight stops moving through the house when he hears Ea. The pokémon has always been rather protective of Genesis and he can't imagine how difficult this must be for her, since she can't understand what's happening. Cecil himself hardly understands, after all. ]

Ea! It's Cecil. I'm here to help Genesis.

[ Cecil enters the bedroom and sees the fox. He raises his hand to show he means no harm, but he's sure the intelligent animal remembers him from the last time he was here to save the redhead. ]

[Her ears perk and jumps off the bed. She growls toward that duck that is bouncing and tries to fire blast it again, but it dodges again. She can't speak, but it's clear she wants it destroyed.]

[That poor man! Why were they fighting!? Mrs. Brisby didn‘t know what was going on or who to route for. ]
