Though that doesn't really help if he was already greeted as a newcomer and been given his rundown of what's going on when he was 'younger

[You're not the only one that's hopelessly lost, Richter. Soma's in a similar state of, 'what the hell', looking around at everywhere but where he's supposed to be going.]

[Collision in five... four...]

[three, two, one-] Aah!

[Richter falls to the side, stumbling. Standing in the middle of a street while looking intently at your hands apparently isn't a good idea.]

I'm sorry! [he haphazardly straightens himself out, holding out his arms in case whoever bumped into him fell.] I wasn't even paying attention to what was going on around me, my apologies!

[It wasn't Richter that made Soma stumble, so much as the blinding rage that shot through him when the other man spoke. It caught him completely off guard, and for a moment, it hurt to breathe and he thought he was going to be sick. He waited for the feeling to subside before he attempted to speak, trying not to look shaken.]

It's okay. I wasn't paying attention either.

[Richter can't help but pause and look Soma over. He noticed the other's hesitance, though he didn't have a clue why he would be shy, or... was he scared or something?]

It's fine... are you new here too?

[There's someone crouched on a rooftop watching you, Richter. ...It's not as creepy as it sounds, honest. Alucard is just concerned for your well-being, especially after that time fiasco. He's just happy to see you as he remembers you again. --And at least he's not blanketed in shadow with the wind flapping his cape and hair about or something equally cliche, right?]

That tends to happen when you wander about aimlessly so, old friend.

Eh? [Richter jumps a bit, not expecting to hear a voice from around him; he was so focused on seeing something on the screen in front of him that he must have let his guard down.

His eyes light up when he turns and notices who exactly is speaking to him.]

So it does! [he gives a wave, or rather, more of a motion for Alucard to come down and join him.] I didn't expect to see you here. Fortunate that you found me before I got myself into trouble.

[So he does, and he lands with silence that one would think those ungodly heels of his would make impossible.]

You are just as skilled at getting yourself out of trouble. [Was that dry humor? Why, yes it was!] --Do you need help? [And he nods at the device Richter was struggling with.]

[he laughs, shrugging nonchalantly.] Well I wouldn't have the skill to get out of trouble if I didn't find myself in the middle of it so often, I suppose. I could benefit from learning to avoid things.

[he holds up the communicator] Agh, yes, I do. I kind of... woke up standing here, with this thing in my hands, and all I can remember is a hazy black shadow. This isn't a dream, is it?

Ah, good! ...May I ask who I'm talking to? I'm terribly lost.

My name is Fai Flourite. It's perfectly fine to be lost when you first arrive, it happens to everyone.

[he grins and nods.] Fai, nice to meet you. I'm Richter Belmont.
That's good to know. Mind if I trouble you with a few questions? Like where I am at least?

Good! But yes, I'm afraid I am. [he smiles awkwardly.] I just woke up with it in my hands, and I'm not sure where I even got it from.

A Moogle? [he looks away from the screen, trying to see what this creature he could be talking about is. He had mostly just seen people around- wait. He turns the camera to face one of the little animals bouncing down the street, not too far from him.]

Is that what these things are?

[Hm? What's this? So Kotetsu wasn't the only new arrival to this spooky town after all! That's a little comforting but worrying as well. This probably means that the Darkness is definitely spreading further and farther than what the locals here originally speculated.

This is very worrisome.]

[Finally! Someone who's friendly and optimistic! Kotetsu was almost worried that he was the only optimistic guy here.]

The name's Kotetsu, and trust me we'll find a way out of here just yet.

And I'm sure we will, but I think finding out some details will help first. I mean, I really don't think this place is hostile... but then again, I've been wandering down the same street for who knows how long, heh.
