[Even before these strange happenings started, Alucard had taken to exploring Traverse Town quietly. He'd been told that those lost often were found in this particular world and he had hoped to find Julius and Yoko. It seemed odd that he would show up and no one else.

It's during his current round through the city that he spots a young boy fleeing through the streets until he finds a bench to sit on. For a moment, Alucard doesn't move; he just watches and waits-- to see if anyone will come claim him or if he's out here alone. The dhampir has generally kept to the shadows up 'til this point, so he carefully emerges when he opts to approach the boy. It's not in his interest to upset him further, so he keeps his distance.]

Traverse Town. That is what this place is called. --Are you all right?

[In his panic, Ritsuka didn't notice he was being watched. So when the man appears from seemingly no where, Ritsuka is visibly startled, despite Alucard's intentions.]

H-huh? [He asks meekly.] I don't know... I think I'm lost.

[He picks up quickly on the uncomfortable feelings and closes his cloak around him; he acts like a newcomer.]

Did you not meet a moogle, little one?

[The cloak is massive on him and he curls up even tighter when the man draws near. Still, he seems helpful, but Seimei said it wasn't wise to talk to strangers. Still when you're all alone and there is nothing but strangers to help you, was silence still wise?

Ritsuka opted for no and shakes his head at the stranger's question.]

No... I don't know what that is... Should I? [Was that something else he's forgotten?]

[Yuiko had come to Traverse Town to one, get a few things and second of all to visit Ritsuka like she would do as much as possible and what with what is happening right now made her worry even more. Looking around she started to call.]

Ritsuka-kun! Where are you!

[Ritsuka is pulled out of his frantic thoughts when he hears someone calling a familiar name... wait.. that was his name! Finally something he remembered. Ritsuka pushes himself off the bench and goes to find the source. The voice was far to high to be Seimei's but too youthful to be his mother.]

H-hello?

[He stops just a bit away from the girl and frowns. He didn't recognize her... Why did she know his name? No one told him he knew any young girls.] Do you know me?

[Yuiko stopped dead in her tracks. Ritsuka didn't know who she was. How could this be, she had no idea, but she knew one thing for sure and that was it really hurt when he asked who she was. Looking down at her feet, she wasn't sure how to reply, or at least try without crying unexpectedly.]

Ye...Yes I do. We're friends.

[Ritsuka stared at her curiously. The girl looked ready to cry, was she lost to? He feels a little sorry that he can't remember her, but she didn't look at all familiar to him. Was she a friend of the real Ritsuka?]

I'm sorry, I ...can't remember... but don't cry. Just... [His ears drop and he has a guilty look on his face. This was another person he stole the real Ritsuka from. Someone else he was making sad.] I'm sorry...

[A slightly younger boy wandering around pauses as he sees Ritsuka. It takes a moment of staring at the ears and tail before he approaches. Even with all the things he's been exposed to, that's still weird to him.

But eventually, he does come closer.]

Are you lost?

[Ritsuka's ears perk up when he hears a voice, before he lifts his head curiously. His hands move to wipe at his eyes, making sure there were no embarrassing tears there.]

I-I think so...

[It was a small boy, that looked even younger that him... but he had no ears. Ritsuka looks confused and a little worried now. What kind of place has he wandered into?! Why was there a child with no ears?!]

[And the ears even move. It's enough to distract him from the movement to hide the tears. Even if he had seen, he had been in a similar position recently enough to not ask any rude questions.

[Soubi had known something was wrong when he had come to Ritsuka's room and not found anyone. Ritsuka is so fastidious; his timing is almost never off. Immediately starting to worry, he had hurried out the nearest door onto the street to find him. It wasn't until he actually did find him that he had started to panic.

Ritsuka looks smaller, thinner than usual. Almost sickly. His skin is pale and his hair seems shorter and less glossy than usual. But the really worrying thing is his posture. He sits in a fetal position, chin on his knees, with tear-stained, young eyes, staring in confusion at the world around him. For a moment Soubi thinks that Ritsuka must have become extremely sick, thrown up all night and never called him, somehow become confused and disoriented in the morning -

No. Ritsuka is younger. He doesn't just look young and small; he's definitely younger. And that confused, frightened look

[Soubi freezes and feels his stomach drop. There is no hint in Ritsuka's eyes of recognition: the boy is perhaps even more scared than he seemed before to see him. He drops to one knee in front of him, making sure that they are at eye-level. He does not come any closer nor reach out to touch him. His voice is soft and calming, though his heart is racing. This Ritsuka is not his master... he has no idea how to handle a Fighter... Soubi will have to take the lead again.]

Yes, Ritsuka, I do. My name is Soubi. I was sent here by - your brother - to find you.

[It's the truth, really, though he can't keep the quaver out of his voice as he mentions Seimei. His former master would have killed him for using his name in a half-truth.]
