[Video/Action] Episode III

[Whatever reason the Qui-Gon opened the video feed for was interrupted before he could say a word by the sudden unexpected sight of two things headed his way. Those two things being his apprentice and a rather lengthy and strange stripped furry creature. The answer of just why Obi-Wan was chasing the creature became apparent as it drew closer to

[One of the rules that were drilled into students' heads as initiates and even as apprentices was that you were never supposed to part with your lightsaber. Take the utmost care of it. Since constructing his very first lightsaber in Ilum, Obi-Wan had kept it with him and never genuinely lost it since in spite of all of the odd adventures he ended up on. ...To have to say that he lost his lightsaber because of an alarmingly quick pest would be shameful at best, and so he took off with a great deal of speed after the thing. There was no guarantee he'd even be able to construct another on these worlds if it was lost.

Both relief and something very akin to: "Oh, good heavens-- it just had to be my Master to see and stop this pitiful sight!" were written very plainly across his face. He huffed, quick to catch his breath from chasing the creature, which he shot a very annoyed glare before focusing on Qui-Gon.]

[He's keeping himself from expressing any amusement further than the smile on his lips and the humor in his eyes as he extends the retrieved weapon back toward it's rightful owner.]

I'm sure it didn't mean any actual harm from it's actions. Some animals are fascinated by shiny objects..

[Once the lightsaber is back in Obi-Wan's custody, he turns his attention briefly to shutting the communicator down, pocketing it and then looks down at the creature which is still standing before him, looking up at him almost curiously. As a precaution, he situated one hand over his own weapon... just in case it was that instead of him which had the animal's attention.]

Any idea just what it is?

[Obi-Wan just frowns in response. There were plenty of other shiny objects that were not his lightsaber. He takes it back and replaces it on his utility belt, but this time being extra wary. But then Qui-Gon's messing with the communicator catches his attention and he feels his cheeks burn in slight embarrassment.]

Oh, Master! At least when I broadcast you, it's of endearing things!

[He knows it was an accident, but the fellow's got to tease to his Master, you know. There could be worse things to catch on the feed, at any rate. He takes a moment to regard the creature again, then shakes his head.]

Aside from a pest? Not in the slightest, but someone around here is bound to know.

[He gave Obi-Wan an amused look for both the teasing exclamation and the question. Kneeling down, he extended his hand toward it to allow it to sniff him; only to have it shove its head beneath the hand. He took the hint and stroked its head briefly as he considered the rest of it.]

Well, it certainly is friendly, whatever it is. I'll have to ask around and see what I can find out about it.

[Video just of this… a strange looking man laughing manically at the Padawan, the terribly sneaky striped creature, and the perfect ‘straight-man’ of a Master.

[It's a short while later before the man responds to this strange, though somewhat still amusing video.]

Hello. You wouldn't have any idea just what the creature in the footage was, would you?

[A pause as he laughs behind his hand. ]

I have never seen one like that before~ What are you going to do with it~?

A funny creature like that should be well taken care of~

[With the lightsaber returned, there's really only one, very, very, important thing left to investigate.]

What type of creature was that?

I was hoping someone might be able to answer that question for me actually. It seems similar to some mammals I've seen, but it's quite obviously larger than they are and if my guess is correct... it seems somewhat more intelligent than those animals.

[Hmmm.] I've seen strange creatures here before now, too. They must be native to these worlds.

What ever it is, it's actually rather friendly... just perhaps a bit too curious and prone to mischief.

[It's also apparently taken something of a liking to him it or something of the sort, since it has been following him around ever since his little confrontation and retrieval act.

Really, he's just waiting for Obi-Wan to start making jokes about him adopting it into their little family they seem to have going currently.]
