Cosplay help!!!

So I'm going to Metrocon next month.

Here's my dilemma:  I want to cosplay, but I haven't seen any new anime in a REALLY long time.  Hell, I haven't watch ANY anime in a long time.

So I need some help picking out a character.  I want something recognizable, so no obscure school girl uniforms that no one will recognize.  >_<

I'll give suggestions by genre! :D

Schoolgirl: I say you should watch Full Metal Panic and do Chidori! THERE NEED TO BE MORE TALL, SKINNY GIRLS COSPLAYING CHIDORI. She has a blazer version and a summer version of her uniform, which would be easier to make. I'd lend you my costume, too, if our measurements are similar enough. Can't lend the wig, though, as I used it for Cliff's Alto and I haven't bought a new one yet.

Fantasy: Blair from Soul Eater. Cute costume, popular show. I want to make this some day eventually.

Sci-Fi: Sheryl Nome is definitely my favorite anime character to come along in a while and Macross Frontier is ridiculously good and getting quite popular in the US (it's ENORMOUS in Japan). I say watch it and pick an outfit you like. (She has a million. lol)

Ooh! I really like Blair's outfit! XD I wonder if I could pull that off in a month? I guess if all else fails, I could wear it to AWA. :)
