I believe some of my faith in human nature has been restored somewhat.  I feel very lucky that I have a roof over my head, and no water running through my house carrying out all my belongings with the flow.  The outpouring of donations of food has warmed my heart.  Businesses in our area stepped up and donated tons of food for the Red Cross shelter

My heart really does go out to all those people who now have nothing. that you are near by it all enough to see it but not be touched must be very hard to deal with hon.

I hope that aid does come quickly for these people, but indeed, will the system in place ever get better to help as soon as possible?, I have no idea.......

Holy shit! I need to watch the news more often. I didn't even realize that you guys were going through this stuff. Tonite, I will play Tenacious D's "The government totally sucks" in tribute, and burn Michael Chertoff in effigy on my back porch.
