*PROLOGUE*
-"I'm sorry Yunho, but we can't-"

-"Be? Why not Jae? Give me a good reason!!" Yunho wanted to know why his lover wanted to break up after 4years together. "Jae, 4years!! Doesn't that mean anything to you?"

-"Yes Yunho." Jaejoong cupped Yunho's face. "That is why I am breaking up with you. I'm sorry."

-"Sorry? If you was sorry, you wouldn't be doing this!!" Yunho grabbed onto Jaejoong's hand.

-"Did those 4years mean anything to you?" Yunho's own question was directed back at him. Yunho looked at Jaejoong with questioning eyes.

-"Of course they did!!"

-"Then what more is there to wait for? I've waited on you long enough Yunho. I can't wait no longer. My heart is growing impatient. Are you ashamed of our love?" Yunho froze at this question. "Yunho?"

-"I-I" Yunho didn't have the answer.

-"That is why I must go. Goodbye Yunho." Jaejoong pulled back. He turned and walked away, leaving a broken up Yunho.

-"Jae...I was going to propose today..." Yunho took out the white box. "Don't go..." Yunho spoke at the ground. He fell onto his knees. "Don't go..." The sky was soon filled up with clouds as the sun became swallowed up in grayness.

-"Without you, my heart cries. And so does the sky.." Yunho whispers as the first raindrop falls.

'Let the rain wash away my sins...
Cleanse my lost love...
Drain me of my sorrow..
Drown me in my pain..
Drench me with loneliness..
I don't want an umbrella.
The rain is my transparent shield
Granted to me from the dark sky...
Shield my broken heart...
Shield it with rain...'

-"I have nothing left...except for the sky..." Yunho looked up, the rain covering his face. Hiding his hurt expression. He held the box up to the sky. "For you." He set the box on the ground. He got up and walked away, leaving the box there in that one spot. The spot Jaejoong was standing in, a few minutes before. "That is all that's left of our love. Our love is now washed away Jae." Yunho whispered, without looking back at the box.

Shield it with rain...'

Chapter 1: 'Rain drops keep falling on my heart'

"Another bright day...." He sighed as he looked out the window, his reflection being covered with drops of water. It had been raining for quite some time now and he was growing restless. A pair of arms snaked its way around his waist, bringing him up to another body.
"Wow, what a sense of humor you have on such a gloomy day." Yoochun whispered into Jaejoong's ear. "I mean...doesn't it disturb you that it's been raining straight for; hmm...I don't know, three months now? Doesn't that seem strange? It's worse than when it rained 40days and 40nights on noah's arc." Yoochun nuzzled his head onto Jaejoong's shoulder. It
was strange. Three months of rain. It was three months ago
when Jaejoong had called it quits with Yunho. He couldn't wait on the other anymore, he had to find someone who wasn't afraid to take action in order to show how much love was involved. It was a beautiful day, that day; three months ago. But, when he had walked away from Yunho, it was as if god had felt Yunho's pain somehow and allowed the water works to come down on earth. It was as if god was unhappy with the couple going their separate ways. A couple that was once shine brightly upon, was now no more. The clouds made their way into view, blocking off the sun for who knows how much longer. It was as if god's way of telling Jaejoong he had made a terrible mistake and now the world and everyone
around him must be drowned in nature's sorrow. His thoughts then went quickly to when he had met Yoochun.

"Someone as yourself shouldn't be out in this type of weather." Jaejoong walked up to the man who seemed to be dancing around the crystal drops. The man continued on with his randomness, as if Jaejoong wasn't there to begin with.

"I enjoy the rain. It's nature's gift to us. To the plants. It makes me feel alive." The man raised his arms up, smiling to the gray sky. Jaejoong hovered his umbrella over the both of them. "Well, no offense to you or any other nature lovers, but rain makes me sick. And you'll get sick as well if you don't hurry up and get some shelter."

"Sure, as long as I can be under the same roof as you. I'm Yoochun. And you're a beauty." The man introduced himself as the both of them walked off to go and dry off.

"I'm going to take a walk." Jaejoong went into the coat rack, grabbing his trench coat, ready to leave. Yoochun stepped infront of the door. "I thought you said you hated rain. What's the sudden change of heart?"

"I'd rather get soak and wet with water than have my brain go dead of boredom. Not that I'm bored with you or anything." Jaejoong mentioned quickly before his boyfriend would take any words to the gut.

"Then let me join you. You know I'm a rain lover." Yoochun grabbed his own coat and was about to put it on, but he was stopped by Jaejoong.

"No, I just need some time to think, okay? I'll be back in a bit." Yoochun made a puppy face Jaejoong couldn't resist. Jaejoong smiled at the pouting Yoochun and placed a light kiss on the other before exiting their apartment.

He needed time to think alright. He needed time to think back on his actions. On his thoughts towards Yunho. Speaking of Yunho, Jaejoong wondered how the other man was holding up. He hadn't kept in contact with his ex. It was just, goodbye and that's it. No follow ups, no 'Lets be friends'. He walked away from Yunho, not even bothering to look back.
As what people say; 'You'll end up tripping on what's infront of you if you always look at what's behind you.'

Rain. Why rain? Yoochun had told him that rain was something that we need. You take a seed, and plant it safely underneath the ground. But, you just don't stand and wait for it to grow. It needs sunshine. But, it can't grow on only sunshine alone. Sure, it needs warmth. But, on too
much warmth, it gets thirsty. So therefore, it needs water. Rain allows the roots to sprout, to plant itself deeper into the soil. It allows the seed to push its way out, revealing itself to the rest of the world. You can actually compare the growth of a seed to that of love. Yes, love involves a lot of caring from both ends. But, how would you really know
what your love is worth if there are no obstacles? Love is built on both difficulties and triumphs. Was rain one of these 'obstacles' he had to overcome? If a plant receives too much water, it dies. Is that what happened to the love between he and Yunho?

Rain. Too much of it puts a damper on one's heart. In specifically, Jaejoong's.

He had wound up infront of a cafe. Before entering, he had noticed a similar figure a few feet away from him.

"Yu-Yunho??" Jaejoong called out towards the figure. It turned around, showing a face clouded with sadness; sorrow. Soak and wet after being out in the rain. The figure stared at Jaejoong with empty eyes, turning away quickly. "Yunho! Wait!" Jaejoong yelled, bringing the figure to turn around once more; this time, pointing in the direction behind
Jaejoong. Jaejoong turned to see what it was Yunho was pointing at. "There's nothing behind-" Jaejoong turned back around to see the figure had disappeared. Guessing that the rain was beginning to have a heavy affect on his thinking, he decided to ignore what he just saw and entered the cafe.

'Go online. 5dollars for 20minutes.'

He noticed a sign hung up above an area of the cafe which contained computers. "Well it's something to keep my mind off this weather." Jaejoong took a seat infront of the computer, putting 5dollars into the pay slot.

'Find love, for free. Just sign up with an account!. One click away! Sign up with Lov-ensure today!'

"What type of website is that?" He asked out loud.

"It's one where single, lonely people go and chat with cyber people." Jaejoong turned from the screen to see Changmin, a worker at the cafe. "What are you doing, going on this type of site? Aren't you with Yoochun now? You don't need to find love if you already have it."

"What's the definition of love?" Jaejoong questioned the taller man. "What does it mean?"

"I can tell you only this; love isn't something you can find in a dictionary. You create your own meaning of love by what you believe in personally. Don't let a paper tell you otherwise." Words spoken by a young genius. Changmin was only 18. How could he know so much? Taking a seat next to Jaejoong he urged the older to-"Click on the link. It won't
hurt you. Just don't flirt with too many men. Could be rapists for all you know."

"I'm a grown man Changmin. Not a child." Jaejoong retorted, doing as Changmin had told him.

'Please enter a screen-name.'

"What should I put?"

"Oh! I know!! Cold lover!!" Junsu came from out of nowhere, tossing his
umbrella to the side while pushing Changmin to scoot over in the chair.

"That name sucks Junsu." Changmin proclaimed, making room for Junsu to sit. Junsu was no more than a few months older than Changmin, and yet he seemed to be more energetic and childish. "How about....raindrops of affection??" Changmin suggested.

"You're talking about my name?? I don't think Jaejoong will pick your name." Junsu inferred.

"Actually, I like Changmin's better." Jaejoong said, typing the name into the computer.

'Welcome to Lov-ensure.'

"That's weird...it didn't ask for a password..." Changmin took into observation, as he watched a message pop onto the screen.

"Wow someone already wants to talk to you!!" Junsu leaned in, over Changmin, trying to see the message. "Who's it from?"

"It's from someone named 'Drenched heart'." Jaejoong clicked on the link labeled 'read'. Looking over the message, he couldn't help, but feel chills. Something unfamiliar, but at the same time, so familiar.

'I've been waiting for you.' What was that supposed to mean?

"Been waiting? For you? Okay.....reply to him and see what he says." Changmin told Jaejoong, trying to keep Junsu's wet clothes off of him.

'Aren't you going to reply?'

The person sent another message before Jaejoong could even type his response.

'Who are you?' -Raindrops of affection

'How are you?' -Drenched heart

'You didn't answer my question. I don't think I know who this is." -Raindrops of affection

'It's been a while...hasn't it? Are you happy?' -Drenched heart

'Excuse me? Yes I am happy. Why is it your concern?' -Raindrops of affection

"This guy is weird. Why is he asking so many questions? Why did he ask if you are happy?" Changmin read over the messages. "Are you sure you don't know the person?"

"No I don't know who this is- wait he wrote something." Jaejoong turned his attention to the new message on the screen.

'Cleanse my lost love.' -Drenched heart

Drenched heart has now signed off.

"He signed off." Jaejoong told the other two. "'Cleanse my lost love?' What does he mean by that? This is just too much..." Jaejoong signed off the site, getting up from his station, walking out of the cafe. Not even saying bye to his friends.

"Cleanse....cleanse." Jaejoong was thinking about that last message, not to even realize that he had bumped into someone. Feeling a wet substance on his arm; quickly drawing his hand to the wet spot. 'Oh my god...is that blood...?' He thought to himself, not thinking about examining his arm. Instead, he looked up to see the person from before.

"Yunho." Still wet. Still had that face that contained so much darkness. Still possessed those empty eyes. "Come share my umbrella." Jaejoong took his umbrella and placed it above the other. "You're freezing..." Jaejoong touched Yunho's face. "What are you doing outside?" No answer. Just those eyes burning a stare into Jaejoong's. "Answer me!! Why aren't you talking??" The man before him grabbed hold onto Jaejoong's arm, sending a wave of pain through Jaejoong's body. He found himself kneeling down onto the ground; Yunho's hand still wrapped around his arm. "What is wrong with you Yunho? Yunho?" Jaejoong looked up to see the figure before him turn into a figure of water; falling into a puddle. Subconsciously...Jaejoong reached a hand to the puddle. Feeling the same shock of pain from the smallest contact, he quickly withdrew.

"Jaejoong!" Yoochun came running his way. "What are you doing on the ground? Are you alright?" He helped Jaejoong up. "Ye-yea, I'm fine, thanks. Lets go home." Jaejoong told Yoochun. As they were walking away, Jaejoong took one last look behind him to find a trail of wet footprints leading away from where he and Yunho stood a few seconds ago.

'Was that really Yunho?' Then it just dawned on him. 'How could I not notice before?' Jaejoong asked himself as he and Yoochun continued to walk.

'This was where we last met before I broke up with him....'
