Are you talking about the National Security Act of 1948 and the supposed 23 divisions, and the secret detainment camps and the shadow FEMA government and all that?
i found it acceptable. i think the author is a bit of a whiner and was basically afraid of authority and the changes in the town. it seems that fema was working for uniformity and maintaining protocol. this shouldnt be shocking. they study pyschology and detention. 5000 people is quite a large group of people to house.
I think what frightens many people about these sorts of things is the lack of accountability and oversight. Americans don't have access to information about these plans, and how they are intended to work. That makes the sudden appearance of 'detention centers' and 'forced registration and identification' seem threatening. Perhaps the fear is unwarranted.
I wonder what it will take for people to really change their consumption patterns, etc. I work in the natural gas industry, and everyday I hear clients, whose natural gas prices have increased by almost 400% over the last five years, talk about "oh they're gonna go down though. I read it in the paper."
Ah, you gotta love an authoritarian death camp that is so severe that you can leave it and then they won't let you come back in. What if I decide to go look for a job but then I don't find one so I want to be gassed and then burnt in the ovens? Dammit, I'm an American citizen, and you can't deny me my right to be gassed and burnt in an oven if you have facilities for such purchased at tax-payer expense!
