how's the new black dice album? i enjoyed their last one, and am hearing interesting things about this one considering everyone else but me has downloaded it already.

Wish I could find some way to virally market this stuff as a work opiate and/or irritant.

I actually like this new Black Dice album (so far) better than the last one. I am missing a couple of tracks, as some of the yousendit links from that message board thread had already expired by the time I got there.

For the most part I have to agree about Black Dice, Lightning Bolt and Animal Collective (though I have been enjoying the tracks I downloaded from the new Black Dice album; they're a bit different than the group's previous work, in my opinion). Some of it I like and some of it I don't. As always, it can be difficult to parse the cult of personality surrounding a musical group from their actual work. And too often the actual work is found wanting. I always get the feeling I'd get beat up at one of these concerts...

I'm not sure I've heard of The Mae-Shi, thanks for the link.

Thanks. The photograph is a Chickasaw warrior thought to have been taken sometime prior to 1830. The map is circa 1540.
