wank on/wank off--the wanker

So, apparently. Stanford is an evasive smartass (which proves my hypothesis, thanks) who you can see being a "rebel outlaw trapped in the body of a coward and a weakling" (which really narrows it down as far as Stanford's characters go.. Even if Pyro wasn't a coward or a weakling--especially considering the extra at least 15 pounds Stanford had on ( Read more... )

Goddamn, what is Aaron doing to his facial hair? I can live with it, as Aaron's comments had me 'squee' like a badly spotted pre-teen. It's just nice to know we're wanking after a smartarse. =P

We knew he was a smartass already. And an evasive one. It's kind of like stating the obvious. He's hugely evasive and ambiguous in interviews. He doesn't really show much personality in a lot of them. Is just sort of professional.. He opens up a little more in interviews done over independent films, but all of those personality traits are pretty much surface level. He doesn't say anything like what Webber says there, "I'm sensetive, I talk too much in relationships." He just says, "I'm evasive." He never really gives opinions, either. Not on anything concrete ( ... )

He's probably more evasive in interviews cause he's not comfortable with the whole thing. I remember reading that he didn't want to voice opinions on beliefs and stuff. He's probably a lot of relaxed and revealing with girlfriends and friends.

He might be growing the beard to make himself look older too! And if he's lazy I can understand. You're right we can wear jeans if we don't want to shave.

Well, yes.. Obviously. If he were comfortable with being interviewed that whole X2 webcast wouldn't have been so mindcrushingly awkward. He did alright with the interview for the making of the movie.. He went into professor!mode and managed to rub two thoughts together and actually make a good point. But the webcast was a bit of a disaster. I think he was aware of it, too.

And I thought he was trying to make himself look older for awhile, too.. But I don't know if it's about that. If he wanted to look older, he could stop wearing jeans that were low enough to show his underwear and hoodies, sneakers, and T-shirts everywhere he went. So I really think it's more an issue of not being bothered about it.
