Yeah, but you could argue that she never actually 'died' in X-2. In X-3, those were real deaths. We're talking disintegration of bodies and adamantium claws bursting beating hearts here.
But yeah... they can basically do what they want. The studio focus is supposed to be on Wolverine and Magneto spin offs right now. And theres a remote possibility of a 'Mutant Academy' type movie about the school and its students.
When I saw it, I was like, "WHOA! Fourth movie time!"
But, it does seem a bit weird that they did that and they could've avoided it had they just not killed Xavier in the first place. *sighs* But, I'd like to see more of Aaron as Pyro, because that would always make my day.
I think if they do a fourth one, they should introduce either the Legacy virus or Gambit. More likely Gambit because everyone's been waiting a long time for him to be in the movies.
I dread the day they put Gambit into the movie, because they'll just *ruin* his character...
I think they put the post-credits bit in because well, they had no idea how the film would be received. If it did well, they left themselves an opening to maybe revisit the series. I think it would focus more on the youngsters and less (hooray!) on the completely incorrect height Wolverine. Please.
Legacy virus would be interesting, but remember that in the comicsverse, it killed Pyro...
you're right about the gambit thing, but i'd still like to see them try... i'm such a nerd for gambit. must be the accent.
and if they concentrated on the youngsters, i'd love x-men a lot more! i mean, wolverine is nice, but pyro and iceman and all the others are so much more *interesting* to me. i knew i wasn't the only one! (and it's not just aaron, either... i think)
That's true about the Legacy Virus, but I think it would bring a little something extra to the movies. Make it seem more grown-up than some of the teenaged crap they have going now.
In hindsight, they probably would ruin Gambit, as they've ruined almost every other character.
The plan as far as I have heard Ratner say is that, if they do more movies, they'll be focusing on specific characters instead of being big X-Men movies. I saw all of the ending after the credits, and yes, he transfers his mind into the brain dead man, as others have already said. Apparently, Xavier does that at one point in the comics. I don't read a lot of comics steadily, so I have to go with what I'm told
( ... )
Oh, as a life-long reader of the comics, I was really pleased with the 'realism' approach. It was nice to put the mutant 'issue' into a real world context and handle it that way.
I think that it would be a mistake to go OTT with it at this point.
On the other hand, I'm currently deprived of sleep by six days, so they could put a herd of flying giraffe into the next film and I'd wax lyrical about it.
I had less issue with the fact that they brought up a "cure" and more with who they showed in line to get it. Are they trying to convince me that all of those people had Rogue's kind of problems? I just found it hard to believe that these older people who seem to have no trouble fitting in are the ones who are getting the cure. Now, you give me a bunch of younger people, and tons of people like Beast or Nightcrawler who, for obvious reasons, CAN'T fit in, and I'd buy the scenario a lot more. That was harder for me to suspend disbelief over than Charles transferring his consciousness.
hey did u hear that on trl?- note to everyone i thought he would be on there but he wasn't. watch brett create another x men and they just want everyone to freak, cuase they are not gonna leave our aaron to finish out the sries by gettin head bumped.

But hey, if it gets us more movies, more Stanford=Pyro and more Bobby/John, I'm not going to complain!
