Permissions: Cape & Cowl

Given that a hilarious number of episodes feature a pan-right to the classic "The Major is an enormous creeper and was watching you the entire time" shot, It seems prudent to include a permissions post so that her complete and total OP hacking skills don't step on anyone's toes ( Read more... )

Character Name: Maggie Mui
Permission to hack your network posts? Yes. The only time it might not be okay is she sometimes copies Oracle's (sibyllant) encryptions when talking to her, in which case use Oracle's guidelines.
Permission to hack your other/external electronics? (specify if desired) Yes. She has a cell phone and a GPS watch.
What kind of info might a world-class hacker be able to dig up on you? Little other than a few lame advertisements for the Paper Sisters Detective Company (and anything which she's posted to the network). She has a log in at the Xavier Institute (she's the librarian there).
Anything else? Not that I can think of.

Character Name: Jaime Sommers
Permission to hack your network posts? Yes. Jaime is from 1978 and thinks COBOL is a new and exciting thing.
Permission to hack your other/external electronics? Yes, but Jaime's electronics are some of her body parts, so check with me first! Jaime is a cyborg, with a control chip wired into her brain to help manage life support and of course the motor control of her ( ... )

Character Name: Alastair
Permission to hack your network posts? discuss because he's also a hacker and uses StarkTech or Decepticon encryptions very often
Permission to hack your other/external electronics? (specify if desired) his laptop only with permission (Kaiba got into it once, he's upgraded the security), his cell phone go ahead.
What kind of info might a world-class hacker be able to dig up on you? (personal/professional affiliations, past exploits in the City, alter-egos if made public, powers, etc.) he works for Stark, in the R&D department as a programmer, he was brainwashed by the Major even though he's kept that info mostly on the down-low (behind private but not encrypted filters), he tried to blow up the Porter once. Nearly everything else is not private, and there's basic info on him in a giant post in his journal. Including his own hacking skills - but Kusanagi can totally out-hack him any day.
Anything else? he's a linguopath, so if someone speaks to him in any language or writes it for him, he'll respond in that ( ... )

Character Name: Barbara Gordon (Oracle)
Permission to hack your network posts? Y!
Permission to hack your other/external electronics? Oracle has fingers in lots of people's pies, so we should probably discuss first.
What kind of info might a world-class hacker be able to dig up on you? Barbara works for the police. She supplied the encryptions for their posts, so the Major could potentially hack all their private communications, but you may want to talk to Toby or Bear about that first. Also, she has two communicators, one for Barbara and one for Oracle, which the Major may or may not connect right away. Barbara's comm rarely gets used (I note on the post when I use it) and there is almost nothing available about her. Oracle's comm gets used more and if the Major would like to hack her old encrypted missives, that's fine — she would then discover Oracle is running a secret team of mostly female operatives whose agenda primarily focuses on investigating other superhero teams. She doesn't keep a formal list of operatives but the Major ( ... )

oh right I have other characters hurr deadredbird November 27 2010, 19:43:47 UTC
Character Name: deadredbird
Permission to hack your network posts? his encryptions come from Tim Drake (Red Robin), so whatever Kai says goes. (But I assume they are hackable since Tim isn't as good as Oracle.)
Permission to hack your other/external electronics? (specify if desired) Y, though he doesn't really have much. But you could hack his comm or something.
What kind of info might a world-class hacker be able to dig up on you? If Jason is infamous for anything, it's for two things — he once mutilated the Joker by cutting off his arms and legs but keeping him alive, and showed the network. The other thing that happened is that he was impaled into a wall, which was also shown on the network. His name has been thrown around plenty, and he has been pretty vocal about hating the Joker.
Anything else? can't think of anything!

Character Name: father-may-i
Permission to hack your network posts? Y! Harry has absolutely no computer prowess.
Permission to hack your other/external electronics? Y!

Man, magical hacking.

I don't even know either, but we should talk about it because that is some fascinating stuff to talk about.

Character Name: tooksteps
Permission to hack your network posts? Not if she's encrypted them.
Permission to hack your other/external electronics? (specify if desired) Probably not, all her personal electronics have been encrypted to her specs.
What kind of info might a world-class hacker be able to dig up on you? Red runs the security for the Superjail. She's physically a child, but living on her own with a guard dog.
Anything else? I'm not opposed to a one-off hack if there's something specific you'd like.

Character Name: temporaltossed
Permission to hack your network posts? Anything public is public, ask me about anything encrypted or filtered.
Permission to hack your other/external electronics? (specify if desired) Discuss it first
What kind of info might a world-class hacker be able to dig up on you? Her Marvel Girl alter ego is fairly public, she's a known member of the X-Men and a teacher at the Xavier Institute.
Anything else? Nope.
