Anyone know of anything interesting going on in the DC metro area mid-week (maybe Wednesday, maybe Thursday) before New Years?  I have about a day before I'm planning on heading down to see Grandparents.  I can either hang out with the big sister, brother-in-law and only nephew, or do stuff that isn't conducive to having an 20-month old around :)

Natural History has a crochet coral reef exhibit going on (highly recommended!) and the Jamestown forensic archaeology exhibit if you haven't seen that yet. There's the Archibaldo fruit people exhibit at the Nat'l Gallery (one room of paintings, one of video), the Botanical Garden holiday trains, and National Geographic has 70-some geckos until Jan 5.

Potentially I'd be up for going along to some of these, if you're interested & would like company.
