Title: The Chronology of us - Chapter 25: Night at the PCA's
Rating: K+
Pairing: Stanathan

Sooo, pretty obvious what this chapter is going to be about. Like many, I was extremely very pretty screaming with rage sobbing uncontrollably upset about Stana not winning the PCA. But I've looked at many people's points of view and I can see some logic in it, and have come to a place of acceptance.

I know this kind of throws the order of the story out of kilter, but it doesn't necessarily need to be chronological does it? If you ignore the fact that the story is called The Chronology of us...

OK, so here it is. Enjoy!
...

The awards were over, many people already shuffling out of the building in a hurry, some lingering in large groups, a few ecstatic actors and many putting on facades of happiness.

Nathan went to the press pit where he was bombarded by photographers, yelling his name and snapping pictures. He then went back and joined Jon and Seamus and had his photograph taken with them. After the formalities were done with, Nathan pulled out his phone and checked his twitter feed, smirking widely at all the messages of congratulations.

"Oh hell, Molly, have you checked your tweets?" He stepped up to Molly who was lingering by the stage.

Her eyes went wide as she pulled her phone out of her purse. "No. Why?"

Nathan made a noise. "Be forewarned, that's all I say."

Molly gasped. "Oh for God's sake. Oh man, I look like a total dork!"

Nathan pursed his lips. "Are they right or was your mind just... elsewhere?"

Molly looked at him with her brow furrowed. "Well, I don't really remember, I mean I guess I was a little... stunned."

Nathan nodded slowly.

"I just didn't know how to react. You know some of the fans think Stana and I don't think much of each other and I didn't want to fuel the fire." The red-headed teen raised her eyebrow at her on-sreen father. "And then there's you cheering heartily."

"It's all acting Molls, better than looking devastated."

Molly gave him a half frown. "Like me, you mean?"

He smiled at her. "It's an art not everyone can perfect, or even want to. Besides, I was happy for Ellen Pompeo. Stana is too."

"You've talked to her?"

"Yeah, I rang her as soon as we could turn our phones back on. She's good, she was busy shooting with Tamala but she was grateful for the call."

"Of course she was, she's a woman and you're her boyfriend", Molly grinned at him.

Nathan put his index finger to his lips, glancing around at half the entertainment industry who were there surrounding them. Molly bit her lip and whispered. "Sorry."

"So bro, twice in a row", Jon patted Nathan on the shoulder.

"Very poetic Jon", Nathan chuckled at his co-star.

And that point, everyone's phones sounded simultaneously.

"Ah how courteous, Mr. Marlowe sending a friendly reminder that we're all due on set in less than seven hours."

"Well, I think I may need some beauty sleep in that time", Molly said.

"Oh yeah, you could just crack the cameras with how shocking you look, Molly", Seamus joked with her. Molly shoved him with a grin. "Shut up."

"Shockingly beautiful, I meant shockingly beautiful", Seamus redeemed himself.

"Aha", Molly shook her head.

"You want us to aid you through the fray?" Nathan asked the young woman.

"Oh I'll handle the compliments and congratulations with grace and humility, don't you worry", Molly reassured him.

"I'm talking about the crazies... they may grab if provoked."

Molly laughed. "Thanks for the warning. I got it."

Nathan looked at her warmly. "Alright sweetie, see you tomorrow", he leaned down, wrapping an arm around her shoulder and kissed the top of her head.

"Night", she replied with crinkled-eyed smile.

She received the same farewell from Seamus, Jon and Julianna and then departed slowly through the hordes of actors and fans.

"Come on now, my turn to get a shot of the three stooges", Julianna shuffled in front of Jon, Seamus and Nathan, holding her phone out in front of her.

"She means the three wise men", Nathan said to the other two men, nodding.

"Or the Big three", Seamus smirked, making Julianna smack him and Nathan and Jon laugh.

"While very true, of course, I gotta ask, who the hell are the big three?" Jon questioned Seamus.

"Don't you know anything about history?" Seamus shook his head.

"Guys, do I have to start yelling like the papz or are you all going to look this way?" Julianna asked them, her arm becoming tired from holding her phone up.

The three men smiled for Julianna's camera. Within seconds she was twit-pic-ing the photo.

"Well boys and girl, I think I'm gonna heed Andy's warning and go and get some sleep", Jon told the rest of the group.

"Yeah, we should head off soon too", Julianna said.

"What about you man, you leaving?" Jon asked Nathan.

"Well I should probably mingle a bit and then I think I'll head over to the studio."

"You, ah, picking someone up?" Seamus asked Nathan with a coy grin.

Nathan nodded discretely. "They're not going to be finished for a couple more hours so..."

"Alright then bro. Sleep tight, well you know, if that's even an option for you tonight", Seamus joked.

Julianna smirked. "He's going to be with his lovah... Do you think sleep is going to be an option?"

Nathan grunted in laughter as Julianna kissed him on the cheek and said her goodbyes.

Nathan shook the hands of the two men and they left him to mix with the hundreds of attendees.

He spent a rather long hour and a half chatting to fans and celebrities, some of whom he knew, others who were simply fans of him and wanted the opportunity to meet him, and some who were just being polite.

When he finally got out of the theater and into the limo, he sent a txt to Stana telling her he was on his way.

When he arrived at Raleigh studios, he smiled his thanks at the limo driver and tipped him generously. He walked briskly into the lot where Castle was filming and was greeted by a group of enthusiastic crew members who all came up to him, patting him on the back, shaking his hand.

"Congratulations Mr. Fillion", a soft voice purred, cutting through the commotion.

Nathan beamed as his partner approached him. "You done?" He asked her hopefully, to which she replied with a nod.

Stana said goodnight to the crew and joined Nathan at his side.

Once they were outside, he took her by the arms and caressed her face softly. "Are you alright?"

Stana's face was alight, showing she was more than alright. "Is there a reason why I shouldn't be?" She chuckled.

"Well, you know, I'd hate to say the word "loser" but..." Nathan stopped talking when Stana whacked him soundly on the chest.

"Ow", he laughed. Stana was still beaming. "I was nominated for a People's choice award."

"You were. Yes you were", Nathan nodded, smiling proudly at her.

"Do you know how many people even get that?"

"Can always count on you to find the gooey chocolate-y centre of it all", Nathan ran his fingers through Stana's hair.

"I mean, my fans cared that much to get me that far. And look at what your fans did! I only have fans because of this show, you've had fans for years, that's the reason you won."

"What, you don't think I'm a good actor?" Nathan teased her.

Stana rolled her eyes. "Of course I do, I'm just pointing out the fact that my fans are perhaps not as widespread as yours. And still, even though this is basically the first big job I've ever had. I made it to the PCA's top list. I mean, how incredible is that?"

"Almost as incredible as you", Nathan told her sincerely.

Stana let out a giggle and leaned forward to kiss him on the lips.

An unspoken agreement was made to move to Nathan's trailer. They joined hands and headed that way.

Nathan sighed. "I just wish that my fans and your fans could just be our fans. Join forces, I mean they'd be an unstoppable fandom, right?"

"Well I think the chances of that happening will be highly diminished if you keep doing things like you did tonight", Stana shook her head with a slight chuckle.

"What do you mean?" Nathan narrowed his eyes at her as they stopped at the door of his trailer.

"What I mean is... I know when you're referring to me, but they don't. When you purposefully don't mention my name, I understand why, but the fans? They think you're deliberately leaving me out."

"Well, I-I am", Nathan grimaced comically.

"Yes but they don't all know it's because we're an item, they think it's because you can't stand me or something."

"But you know, don't you? I mean, you understand that if I were to mention your name up there, in the heat of the moment, there's a very high possibility that I would just start gushing like a waterfall about you, my enigmatic, astoundingly talented, pretty damn fine, partner in every way imaginable..."

"Yes, OK, I think I get the gist", Stana stopped him, blushing with a shy smile.

"Well then if you know, if you can hear all the words that were left unsaid. Then that's all that matters, because you're the only one who needs to know how I feel about you."

Stana bit her lip, swaying slightly on the spot, looking very much like a shy little girl.

"Well I mean, you could still tell me in private... Or you know, you could show me", she said to him boldly, glancing up shyly to see his reaction.

Nathan grinned at her and turned to unlock his trailer. He grabbed Stana by the waist and pulled her inside the door, letting it click shut behind them.

He helped her to shuck her coat off her shoulders and then captured her lips in a passionate kiss.

"You know something", he whispered in the darkness of his trailer.

"Hmm?" Stana hummed, nuzzling his chin with her forehead.

"You'll always be my choice."
