It was more of a soap opera relationship.

Hitler idolized Mussolini and Mussolini didn't give a shit about Hitler so at first it was like unrequited love.

Then Hitler got powerful and Mussolini got scared of him and started doing everyhing hitler wanted. In other words he was whipped.

Ended up that he got pulled into the war when he wasn't ready and lost miserably.

He went into hiding but was found, hung, and mutilated.

Mussolini was a gutless worm :D

Mussolini created the first fascist nation in europe. He took control of Italy on a BLUFF that everyone believed because he was very good at seeming powerful even when he had nothing. Hitler was a better public speaker, but everything he every did he took directly out of Mussolini's playbook.
