The short game: do little things that make life better for individuals. Maybe that's making a donation to a local food bank or clinic. Maybe it's smiling at someone who seems scared or stressed. Stepping forward if someone makes a rape joke, or refusing to pay for a movie that whitewashes a brown character.

Little things that are meant to reach just one person. One at a time.

We can make the world a better place so that the next time there's more love than hate. But silence has let the hate grow large and that's what we need to fight. Make the disenfranchised people stronger, more loved, more supported than hated.

That *is* the long game, but it's done in tiny, tiny steps. Love one person one time today.

I'm happy that I bumped into you earlier that evening no matter how fleeting it was. We were all so hopeful and excited.

How long did you stay? James and I left just before they officially told everyone at the Javits to go home. We were just too emotionally and physically exhausted to stick around. I think we got the news when we reached the subway station at Times Square. An AP photographer took a photo of us right before we starting sobbing in the street so our grief has been splashed over various news sites.

We're all doing what we need to do keep on going.
