At dawn, Sirius gets up. His mind and body follow a certain schedule: he is unable to sleep past sunrise these days since it’s unnatural for his dog-like part. Twelve years of Azkaban, spent as Padfoot, have seen to that.
His mind is far from being calm. He’s waiting for someone who should have returned yesterday, if that someone were on schedule. But Snape didn’t come. The rising sun, still weak, sees Sirius restlessly pacing in the living room, breakfeast untouched. He’s worried.
Will he ever see him again? Will Snape return from his mission?
Sirius desperately hopes he will.
