Wonderful! So many places where the words are just perfect but I especially like these:

He felt as if a part of him had been carved away, as if they were two vines that had grown entwined together and been ripped apart, each losing leaves and branches in the process.

I wasn't sure about leaving that bit in, so I'm glad you liked it.

Oh, you have such a talent for the wrenching of the heart... You know I think this is wonderful - the words of it, but especially somehow the beat of it... *g*

I take that as a huge compliment, 'cause I love the rhythm of your writing so much.

Caught up. And guh. Lovely, so lovely. Hurty and sad and hopeful and... all those things you love and hate and want. *happy sigh*

Of course he had a plan to get him back. We always knew he had a plan. And I really liked

"You're a right bastard," Bodie said, drawing in a sharp breath as Doyle drew his thumb lightly across Bodie's lower lip.

"Probably," Doyle said, then kissed him soundly...

Perfect exchange between them!

Of course he had a plan. And I'm rather fond of that exchange too.

Beautiful. Wish I could think of something intelligent and inspiring to say, but all I can do is feel that swelling ache in my chest...

I'm just happy to have inspired a swelling ache in your chest. Though I do hope it's a good ache.
