At least Nagi had heard him out, Mamoru thought, dry-mouthed and wondering what happened next. He was ashamed; all those orders he'd given on handling Nagi, and he'd been the one to mistreat him

Oh thank heavens.

While I do have to wonder a little what Mamoru was expecting Nagi to demand by way of compensation, I am terribly relieved that Nagi, at least, has pragmatic and simple requirements. There's hope he'll keep Mamoru from sinking entirely into the well of melodrama despite all those Takatori genes. And it seems there's also hope that Mamoru might figure out how to stop assuming how Nagi should be treated and start treating him how he wants to be treated. It's nice to think that at least they have a chance, now.

Mamoru's luckier than he deserves really (it helps that actually Nagi isn't like other boys . . .) And Nagi suspects that asking for real compensation would only cement things much as they were, probably with Mamoru creeping round sinking deeper and deeper into guilt and self-loathing. Making him talk to Nagi seems like a good solution - and possibly revenge :-)
