Hola -- I added you to my friends list after you generously posted that link to the Leisure Suit Larry download on E's journal. It looks like we have a number of mutual friends in the poly community (although you probably haven't met me in person because my recording / etc. schedule over the past year has made me kind of hermitlike). Feel free to add me back if the spirit moves you.

yea, i just re-read it and it might have been a bit harsh. but she really would have been mad about another person confusing ya'll!

i'm sure i'll be back again before summertime. we're moving to northern cali then so i doubt i'll be back for quite some time after that.

trying to plan a trip for Patrick and I, we'd like to see everyone and say our goodbyes. maybe we'll try and plan a weekend poly gathering.

hi there,

i found your journal through the community WLS and Fat Acceptance, which I thought was an awesome idea. As I looked over your profile, it looked like we have a lot in common (and even some friends). I'd like to add you, if you don't mind. My interest in WLS and Fat Acceptance comes largely through my partner, though I'm also overweight. My partner, Jess, had an RNY gastric bypass last week, and right now, a lot of my journal is updating and will soon be processing all of that..

Yeah, I started the community, and havnet done anything with it. Its kinda hard to articulate, as people who have gone through the process are seemingly at odds with the SA/FA group, and neither side can really see the middle, except for a few of us that are living it :-)

My WLS specific blog is http://www.fatgirlshrinking.com , this one is mostly rants and such, but if you add me, i'll add you back (if you post on your LJ :-)

that's terrific. I'll definitely add you, and thanks for the info about your blog. I don't quite get the logic that I seem to hear in many FA communities that WLS is a "betrayal of the movement." For Jess (my partner), it's a move towards wholeness, health, and being able to live her life. She's not trying to fit into an idea of thinness...she's just trying to live longer and be able to move more...

Exactly. If I never get "skinny," I still am much more active than I was. Things are easier to do now. Yes, I could have done them at 320, but when walking around made me tired, I couldnt do the things that I do now.

the problem is that there is some self blame that occurs within WLS communities. People can out eat the surgeries, they can not take vitamins and get deficiencies, etc. We cant get away with what non surgical FAs can do, because we do have things that we have to do for our bodies. Its the same as HAES, in which we are doing what is right for our body, but we also look at long term consquences of some of those decisions.

Of course I remember you :-) I love your Icon! :-) And, yes, people freak over my icon as well, which is why the insanity one is my default now.

BTW, yall are welcome to camp at purple taco next year, all of yall were really cool to hang out with. Im still trying to see if I can make one of the burns out there this year, if not this year, then next year most definitely.
