It drives me up the wall when people respond to news of travel destinations, past or future, with, "You are so lucky!" Yes, travel can be expensive, but luck didn't save my money, book my plane tickets, or make my hotel reservations. I totally agree with you! While Patrick and I haven't been "lucky" enough to travel out of the country much more than our honeymoon, it is only because we have chosen other things. I still think it's in the same vein as your statement though.. regardless if it's travel or something else.. We didn't think we could afford a child, and now we have one and we're "lucky" enough to be surviving... I say you should keep going on your vacations and letting the rest of us live vicariously through you ;) And yes, there are many ways to travel.. Another great one (I'm not sure how they did it, but my parents did it) is to get a group to go in on a trip and yours becomes free! It's amazing how many companies (not just travel) will offer group discounts or buy a bunch get one free type deals! All you have to do is ask, and do the work of getting a group together... Anyway, keep feeling good about your vacations, it sounds like you have a lot of fun!
