1) There is no such thing as too many socks, as long as you're not holding on to old icky ones with holes in them or threadbare toes.
2) I don't think men should EVER wear white socks! Not after the age of 19, seriously. Black is the way to go, unless you're going to the gym- then you can wear short white socks, but NOT tube socks! And it's okay for men to wear argyle socks after the age of 45. However, none of these rules apply to fashion forward gay men :)
3) Ummmm... because they're cute? Maybe some women just think of themselves as cuter if their socks are cuter, like their socks are an extension of themselves. But more well hidden XD
