Stacey's New, Shiny Toy

I heart tax-free holidays.

I was out shopping yesterday with sunniski and Ben D. (not to be confused with melancon). On a whim Ben decided he wanted to go into CompUSA. Well, after inquiring about my Lappie at the service desk (it's not back from HP yet, that's all they knew) I roamed around the store looking at Things. (Yes, I meant to capitalize Things.) And ( Read more... )

Stacey,

I feel moderately embarassed to say this but I do not know about mp3's or ipod's. All of this technology confuses me. I am old. We did not have these things in the 80's. (I know you can appreciate that comment!) I am happy to hear that you had joyous exuberance in your purchases. :) I hope you enjoy them very much. Are you doing anything to get geared up for your big walk in October? Any diets or exercises that you are trying? Hope you are doing fine. I wanna see more pics!! LOL

I never heard of MP3's until I was in college. And at that point everyone had them over the network so they were really easy to find. Now I buy my music for 99 cents each... although that's certainly more reasonable than when I was in HS and would pay $4-5 a pop for a CD single.

Well, the only thing I've done to gear up for the walk is to make that post looking for donations! The walk itself is about 3 miles and it is not too troublesome to do... maybe takes an hour or so. That morning I'll probably fuel up on coffee and donuts (there is a Honey Dew Donuts shop at one end of the lake... in case you have not heard of Honey Dew, it's like Dunkin's... BUT BETTER).

Stacey,

I have tried Krispy Kreme and they are the best dounts I have ever had. As for coffee, NOTHING I repeat NOTHING beats Dunkin Donuts coffee. :)))

I hope that I was correct but the check is to Walk to D'Feet ALS?

99 cents for a song that is yours is not too bad. I used to record onto tapes from the radio stations. hehe How are you enjoying today?

Sorry about that check thing... kind of forgot that "minor" detail, didn't I? It should be made out to "The ALS Association Massachusetts Chapter." Thanks again :)

Well, Krispy Kreme definitely has the best donuts, but the great thing about Honey Dew is what they call their Dew Drops - basically a knock off of Dunkin's Munchkins. The Dew Drops are much softer and tastier than the Munchkins. Also Honey Dew has better flavors of coffee, like Vanilla Hazelnut and Blueberry... Dunkin's is just starting to get in to flavors like that, and they always make things too sweet for my tastes.

I used to tape songs off the radio, too. I have tons of mix tapes still lying around. Most of them came from my friend hazelyze in our freshman year of college... it was at that point where MP3's were still in their infancy, CD burners were too expensive/not widely available, and we didn't have enough money to buy all the CD's we wanted ( ... )
