Yep, I generally hate it until I've set it aside for a while and then reread it. Then I'm amazed that it's better than I thought. Usually.

I know, I almost fell down laughing.

Kids are so eloquent ;-)

Not my cuppa tea. I prefer the protag to do her own fighting. Just my opinion, though ;-)

Have a lovely day! :-)

I love your metrics but I hate it when you call yourself a loser, because I've read your other book and you don't suck at all! (And trust me, reading slush for writer's workshops, I've SEEN suck and honey, you ain't it.)

Great wordcount! I better get to read this when it's finished.

That's so sweet. Really. I appreciate it. In fact, I actually feel guilty now for having called myself a loser and made you feel bad.

I'll tell you a secret. I don't actually think the book sucks. But I do think it's not as good on paper as it was in my head (of course) and I guess I kind of think, it would have made me feel better when just starting out to see that somebody who'd actually made a sale (notice I don't say "someone who was successful" because you and I both know my thoughts on that) and had a few books out there, no matter what they were, felt just as insecure and bad sometimes about their work as I did.

And you better read it!
