Twilight and cynicism

No, really, hear me out here. This isn’t a “Twilight is great” or a “Twilight sucks” post. I’m not defending it, but I’m not raging against it either. I’ve just had a few thoughts abut it recently, and I thought they were interesting, and I thought my smart and wonderful blog readers might have some thoughts about my thoughts. So here we are.

I think this was a very insightful post. And I agree that the focus of the books is very much about young love and how awkward and insecure it can be in the beginning but how it should be celebrated. I do wonder how Edward could be so stupid at points when he's nearly 100 years old. Really? He hasn't learned anything about healthy relationships in that amount of time? Even watching Carlisle with Esme, or Alice and Jasper or even Emmett and Rosalie? He's surrounded by seemingly healthy and loving relationships and yet... You would think he would be just a little better at handling things than he is.

Holy Moly. I've been working too long and hard for the last month or two (so tired, can't focus on time), so haven't checked "my blogs" much. I come back to find you are posting like 15 times a day. Too cool, but now I'm 7 years behind, can't imagine catching up on your posts ( ... )
