Oh, what a morning

Jun 18, 2010 12:24

It’s 1:50 pm (yes, I know that isn’t morning. So what?). I’ve been ready to go back to bed since ten.

Lousy sleep-it’s too damn hot to sleep-and lousy dreams. Then, as I’m wandering the internet this morning I find an article about the upcoming Toy Story 3 movie, which reminded me of Toy Story 2, which I hate and can’t watch.

“But, Stace,” you say ( Read more... )

reviews, things that make me sick, in which i open up in an afterschool spe, of interest to me, unholy ghosts, bad things, i am sad

Hmm...putting my reviews on Twitter...brilliant! Thank you for the idea. Since there are so many of us who review at Bitten, it's hard to figure out a way to differentiate yourself from the masses. : )

Uh...it's bad luck to kill a spider?? Shit. I've been a one-woman extermination team for the last month. Okay, so my son helps, but he's two. His bad luck will just transfer to me.

OMG, you should TOTALLY tweet your reviews! I always retweet mine--sometimes more than once, depending on the time of day (like if they go up first thing in the morning I RT in the evening) and I know a lot of other people do too. Excellent way to connect with other reviewers & readers.

Lol, it's supposed to be. I try not to kill them but I admit I have occasionally in the past--especially the year we had like a dozen of them in various corners of the ceiling--resorted to sucking them up with the vacuum hose. Especially if they're really big nasty ones.

No wonder I've been seeing so many spiders and mosquito hawks this year! I made the mistake of killing one spider, and a mosquito hawk and have been seeing tons of them ever since.

"Candle on the Water" is from the movie Pete's Dragon, a Disney movie from '77 or so. It's...oh man. Just think of lighthouses, and ships lost at sea. It's a lovely, lovely song, and Helen Reddy has a beautiful voice, but geez. I can't hear more than the first line without blubbering. My eyes are stinging just writing about it.

And oh, yes. Those damned tragic ads, I hate them. It's not pop music, but I couldn't bear those fucking dog shelter ads. The one with the jaunty cockney dog saying he still doesn't know why his owners stopped loving him? Or those NSPCC ads with the lonely toddlers whose mothers never feed them or the teenage girl who doesn't know why her uncle makes her do those things. Those bastards.

Oooh, have fun, I'll keep my fingers tightly crossed!

I remember Pete's Dragon but not the song. Will have to go and look it up when I'm feeling suitably maudlin.

It's the ads that get me but then they ruin the song for me because it always makes me think of the ads. Argh.

Thanks for the crossed fingers. :)

Heat? What's heat? I'm in England.

Hugs on the sucky stuff. Yay on the good stuff. Here's hoping the good stuff will always outweigh the sucky stuff.

Oh, are you in England? And it's not hot there? Why don't you rub it in a little more, David. I have a torn cuticle you could pour lemon juice over if you like. Thppt.

Father's day weekend - means I have to go to my sister's for a bbq - might be fun. I'm not always into the family get togethers

Heat - especially when it's still hot at 10 p.m. pisses me off. Makes me want to rage, and feels like I can'y breathe

I like the Toy Story movies - sorry. If it makes you feel better, I used to feel bad if I saw one of my toys out in the cold....(still do sometimes....wait - I don't have toys! except barbies....)

I don't recall the song Candle on the Water.....HEY aren't you a little young for Helen Reddy? She was popular when I was a "tween" (1971/72)

Bonus comment - I really get a kick out of your posts. Usually when I need a chuckle the most, I enjoy your snarky comments, and your "rants" :) Thanks!

I've never seen a Toy Story film because I cannot stand Tom Hanks. There. I said it. Even his voice makes me want to hit things.

I'm looking forward to a busy weekend doing things I love, like writing and seeing my parents, in contrast to the busy week I had doing things I hate, like be at my day job, lol.
