I'm looking forward to a character that has a issue like this. I like different characters, people that aren't perfect or close to perfect. Sometimes you think you're going to get that in a book, but then it turns out that the supposed "bad" guy really isn't, or the flawed character changes way too quick - suddenly they've overcome their addictions or problems and rarely re-visit them. That's okay once in a while, but I also wouldn't mind reading about people who really are flawed.
