First, I forgot to mention here (though I have put it on Twitter a few times) that I’m doing a chat at BookSmugglers and it lasts until tomorrow, and when you ask me a question you’re entered to win a complete set of the Demons books. So if you haven’t stopped by already, please do!

Second…well. My last post got considerably more attention that I ( Read more... )

literacy is for everyone, in which i open up in an afterschool spe, writing should not just be for the rich, my opinion for what it's worth, reading matters, things that make me sick, i take writing fucking seriously, shut the hell up, libraries are awesome

ironically, I imagine that most writers have been voracious readers, at least before they started writing. So if writers hate readers, then they hate themselves.

I'm hoping that most writers don't feel like that. The majority probably enjoy readers. I would hope. If people didn't read, they wouldn't buy their books. Simple cause and effect.

I'm glad that you don't feel like that, and I don't feel like that's kissing ass. However it does remind me that all writers are human, and like humans, some are assholes, some are sweet and some are bitter and some are wonderful human beings.

And that's very true. Some people are just assholes; they're in every profession. But I honestly don't personally know any writers who are anti-library or anti-book-loaning. And if I did I probably wouldn't bother to get to know them better. :-)

Oh yeah, I can't imagine being against libraries. It's got to be a very young person, one who never ever had to borrow anything before? Maybe. Maybe it's just an asshole!

Stacia, I LOVE your posts and the fact you feel free to voice your opinion;).

I'm working on being a writer and I will always be a reader. Not only is it part of my job, but it's a way to ecape from reality and leave the world behind. I agree with madelwanda, if writers hate reader they hate themselves! Idiots!

And libraries? They are a treasure trove, a must-have and something we have to work on keeping for all times.*stops rant and remembers all the time she'd spent in a library for fun and for studies*
