Title: Don’t Ask, I’ll Tell
Rating:PG
Warning(s): mild homophobia and references to a canon hate crime
Note: I wanted to play with the idea of a version of Blaine’s dad that is actually trying, even if his son doesn’t see that.
Summary: It’s not that Blaine wants to upset his dad. It’s just that he refuses to be someone he’s not.

or five questions John Anderson has asked, proving he just doesn’t get it. )

tw: homophobia, group: the anderson clan, pairing: kurt/blaine, fandom: glee, genre: 5 times fic

oh, yay, i get to be the first person to flail about how amazing this is! this is pretty much my head canon for mr. anderson- not outwardly, obviously homophobic, but seemingly radiating this aura of intolerance and indifference towards blaine's sexuality. this is both very emotional and very subtle, which is a hard balance to strike, so kudos. :-)

The way I see it, how Blaine is on the show makes me think that this kind of Mr. Anderson is more likely than the an extreme homophobe.

I love this. I love fics where Blaine's father isn't a one-note homophobic jerk. This is so much more real and exactly what I would want of that character in canon. So sad the show hasn't explored this yet.

I really want the show to explore this, but I worry about how they'll handle it, because it would be easy to have a homophobic Mr. Anderson to contrast how awesome and supportive Burt is.

I love Mr. Anderson fix it fic. Because I don't believe we're going to get an understanding father for Blaine, but I also don't think that anyone could have Blaine a son and not love him to pieces. This was just the right amount of fluff and angst. They didn't have a big tearful conversation and magically everything was fixed, but they also aren't walking around hating each other either.

Perfect. (well almost perfect, because it wasn't long enough. I wanted to read forever!)

This is, like, my primary headcanon for Mr. A.

This was brilliant, it's pretty much what I imagine Mr Anderson to be. The epiphany at the end was a nice surprise, usually they don't end like that but I'm really glad it did. Thank you for sharing this.

This is lovely. It's so soft and subtle and absolutely the way I see Blaine's dad. You write wonderfully! It's far too easy to go the grr angry homophobic dad!!! route, I think, and this feels really realistic and, dare I say, organic. Hehe. But really, I loved this; I'm just awful at working it out into a comment.
