Guatemala (and esp. adoptions) are so 2006! Russia is kind of awesome in a Kold War Retro Komrade way. Mongolia is to foreign work as Tahoe is to skiing: it's no longer [i]the[/i] place to be, but everyone who's everyone agrees that it's still great. Indonesia is topical and pretty damn hip these days, but your real problem is with your step-brother.

I'm afraid the only thing that trumps "Djibouti for some hush-hush thing" is "Tajikistan on assignment for the (air-quotes) State Department (end air-quotes)". Feel like joining the CIA?

I wonder if, in years to come, people with little Chinese girls will scoff at other, more recent adoptions. "We were so old-school that we got a China baby, you know, before they tightened up the restrictions. What've you got? Cambodian? Pffft. Poser."
