Just read all of what you've written for this story and...wow. It's gorgeous and heart breaking and your imagery is freaking mind-blowing. Normally I don't love abuse victim stories but this is just great. I really feel as though Barney needs a hug in this...so great,the way he's so supportive and sweet, and she just keeps relying on him. Can't wait to read more!

I don't love abuse victim stories and this definitely has the possibility of turning into a Lifetime Movie script (hoping to avoid that with diligent editing? maybe?) but I'm glad you're liking this! Okay, since I was gone I just got to read like 5 chapters at once and wow. That's heavy. I don't even quite know what to say. I'm just such a fan of your writing. I don't think this feel cheesy or exploitative either one. I think it's just right. And naturally I feel like shit for Barney and the position he's in (heh, position, no FOCUS SOLO)

...anyway, I really can't wait to see what happens next. I have no right to criticize about a chapter delay right now but hey, I will just say I'll be really happy when the next one is up.

And maybe when Robin actually apologizes to poor Barney.

yeah I know - apology, get in here and clean this up. Yeah this has been a really long delay for me because I feel like I'm at that moment where it could turn into cheese and exploits both, so I'm being way overly cautious.

roland and I are working on the next chapter now, so it'll probably be up by tomorrow (or tonight)

Damn, this fic is heavy and intense and I probably shouldn't have powerhoused the last seven chapters in one sitting but I did and frankly, I don't think I regret it.

This is just...fuck...I think I need to go spend some time in my happy place.

And sweetie...as a recommendation from one writer to another...I'd continue to keep abuse or abusive situations listed in your warnings. Especially when the chapter contains explicit scenes of violence like this one does.

oh my god, of course! I've never written a story like this so I didn't even think about it, but now that you say that it's a great suggestion thank you. I'll edit right now.

And yeah I agree, wicked heavy and intense and if you had asked me I probably would have issued warning...since I haven't even written the less horrible parts yet...all the chapters at once are probably way too much. Sorry about that.

I wrote a Buffy fic called "Alpha Female," where Willow got possessed by the Hyena spirit instead of Xander (which if you don't watch the show than it probably doesn't make any sense) but anyways, there's a scene where she has dubious-consensual sex with Angel (hot, sexy vampire guy) and it didn't even occur to me that I didn't do a warning for rape until someone pointed it out. Since then, I've become obsessed with making sure all my stories have the right warnings and stuff so of course, I'm inclined to help people out where I see it.

I will definitely be continuing on with this fic but not as a follow up to any of my homework assignments :)

oh I know all about willow and xander and angel, fear not. my sister is a religious buffy fan so no explanations necessary. Yeah I think it's a "damn I didn't even think about it" moment for most people, right? Good thing fanfic communities are so friendly and understanding ;-)

And ew...fanfic as homework? Jeez I hope this story's not THAT intense!
