This was just...utterly and completely fantastic.

I even found myself tearing up at the end as you repeated a section from earlier.
She buried him once.

She sat in waiting rooms.

She clasped her hands tightly and sat beside him while machines beeped and codes were called for the patient next door.

And she doesn't know why, but she’s been thinking of him more often than before.

On top of that, I think you nailed Brennan's characterization perfectly. I love how she seems so calm and yet excited about her newly trained abilities in human emotion and observation.
