I wasn't sure what was going on, which story was which universe and if they interlocked.

*nod* I forget sometimes that just because it all makes sense in *my* head, that doesn't always mean it's going to make sense to everyone else. For the sake of full disclosure, none of the three stories are in any way interlocked or related. They're all independent snap-shots of possible AU's. The first is my version of the mirrorverse, that ends with Mirror!Kirk in the Reboot universe. And now that I'm thinking about it, I can see how that is a bit convoluted. The second is an AU where Pike steals back the USS Yorktown to go be a bad-ass space pirate. The third is an AU where Pike refuses to hand over his captaincy and Jim makes himself Pike's new Number One.

Thank you for letting me know, I really appreciate it. I have a pretentious pet-peeve for unrelentingly straight forward stories(neatly laid out and totally clear - I like stories that make me work a little) and it might have got the best of me here.

I think the third AU was my favorite, I could really see Pike refusing to be relieved and Jim taking anything he can get. The mirror!verse fic just made me so sad, so very sad. The middle one left me puzzled until I read it a second time and it dawned on me what Pike was doing: collecting his crew. Haha, Pirate Pike FTW! Really lovely takes on the Pirk relationship, each so different, yet still feeling so much like the way it could have been.

I got it that there were three universes depicted. My favourite is the second. Hooray for BAMF space pirates!

Very clever set-up for the story.
