Vulcans are like that - or at least Spock is. There are so many things that would have been helpful if he'd mentioned them before, like pon farr (instead of just going "I need you to abort this mission and take me to Vulcan for reasons I am not going to explain."), or his katra, the the inner eyelid, to name a few.

Silly, silly Spock. Don't you know that letting yourself die just to save your pride is illogical? Especially since people would find out after you died and the autopsy was conducted, anyway. Nice to see a bit of his illogical human side come out here. ^_^ He's just lucky Bones is willing to give him another chance.
