+ so what is ship wars?
ship wars is a competition/contest based around the vicious blood-thirsty battle filthy, sweaty, naughty-bad-wrong orgy concept of teams of ‘shippers’ competing against one another. The first round was weekly prompts, the second round is two-week prompts and the final round is a month-long 10K prompt. for each prompt the team or 'ship' submits one entry. start February 12, 2010 we're going to accept vids, fics or art as the entry to the battle.

a ship is a team of shippers. Every ship has a Captain and every ship contributes at least one entry to the ship wars prompt.

+ so what do I do?
as a shipper you cheerlead your team, contribute to the prompts with: art/fic/vid. You also participate in the Ship Wars battles which are party posts that are put up along with the submissions. there are weekly 'themes' for the battles and there's usually a hint posted 2-3 hours before the start of the battle. It’s a bit hard to explain but if you click on Prompt 2 entry i've made the whole battle public entries to give potential shippers an idea of the process.
also a summation:
+ prompts are posted
+ teams amass entries on their comms, vote on 1 entry of all the possible entries to submit to the war
+ entries are submitted to Admiral Mods who post them all at once along with the flocked battle post
+ shippers read AND COMMENT on the entries, play on the flocked party post
+ the following day the flocked vote is posted
+ the vote is closed and the battle post is made a public entry for the lol's of all. at this point the Admiral mods calculate the over all score taking into account the pop vote results, the captain's vote, the admiral picks and the gold stars awarded.
+ can I join more than one team?

+ so if I wanted to join what do I do?
you go will sign up on the comment threads of this post first. Your new Captain will have put a comment here with the name of their ship. You put your name and whatever information the Captain requires under THE TEAM OF YOUR CHOICE, any misplaced comments will be deleted without notice. Your Captain will direct you to their comm and any relevant information posts you need to read there. You ARE REQUIRED to read AND SIGN the Wank Post and the Crew Wide Announcement before you are considered a member of any ship. also, when signing these posts PUT THE NAME OF YOUR SHIP IN THE TITLE OF YOUR COMMENT. any comments not having this will be deleted without notice.

yes. If you do not you will not be approved for membership to ST_respect. If you’re not a member you cannot see the battle posts or vote.
+ so i have to join the comm?
yes. you don't have to 'watch' it though that is recommended, but you MUST join it.
+ so I might be interested…but I can’t chose a ship, I love them all!
be a Tribble. They watch the war and vote but do not make contributions to the prompt.
+ so how long do I have to decide?
Open recruitment ends Thursday February 11,2010 at Noonish EST. If you have not joined and signed both posts by then you cannot participate in the war.
