Thanks! Making characters hurt seems to be something I'm good at.

“I’m from San Francisco, doc. If I want to commit ritual suicide, I’ll jump off a bridge.”
That was morbidly lol worthy. And I like how you actually had the characters deal with the situation at hand and didn't gloss over the hard bits.
Brilliant as usual

Heh... I had fun with that part of their conversation, I'll admit. Glad someone else liked the dark humor!

The hard bits are the most juicy ones to work with. Thanks for the compliments!

This is fantastic, painful yet hopeful. I really liked seeing Kirk being an awesome Captain wrt to leadership and care of his crew: IMO he was right, too.

Also using Kirks' description of what he'd imagined doing to Spock is a very effective way of showing us just how much the infection had twisted them, without straying into offensive detail about what the others actually did.

The character details make your story much more engaging - in this one I particularly liked Sulu and Chekov not-laughing at the banter on the bridge, so as not to spook Spock. :)

Thanks so much! I was really trying to hit that dark yet hopeful tone--this hurts these people, but they're too strong to really break.

Character details are always fun to work with. I've always loved the bridge banter, and imagine it's got to be hard for the poor helmsmen to keep straight faces during it.

(Also, love your icon! Nine was my first doctor, though I've seen a lot of old and new Who since then. He's still my favorite.)

I'm really glad you enjoyed it! After the hecticness of the rising action, I was hoping the falling action would live up to expectations.

Oh lord. The detail in these, the sheer awesomeness of every. single. character. The structure of this series is so smart - a very clever way to pull every member of the crew to the forefront, but then everyone else is still there, too, with pitch-perfect characterization and the indestructible sense that they're a *team.*
