I've just read the first chapter so far, but I want to say...this is brilliant. I love genderswap because it causes us to more deeply examine the hetero-patriarchal constructs of gender, especially in pop culture. Good for you for writing such a long one! And I love that you keep their personalities so close, even when switiching gender. Keep up the good work :)

I have two children, a boy and a girl. I've also lived in two vastly different cultures: Japanese and American. Both experience have made me think that a lot of gender differences are actually innate. That said, there is overlap. My little boy loves art as much as any little girl, and my little girl is quite the bruiser!

T'Spock comes by her "violent" tendency in the barroom scene very differently than Spock. Philosophically she feels she must put them in their place, it's very deliberate...unlike Spock who just lashes out. My Spock was also very naughty (I wrote a story called Descartes Error), T'Spock isn't really compelled to play the field as much.

Also, Noyoto is more aggressive than Nyota...and errr...he may not be a player per se as Spock was, but he is definitely not beyond taking advantage of opportunities as they present themselves!

Anyway, I hope you read and enjoy the rest of the story.
