Hey all! I have recently re-read Not This Time by SineadRivka and Cause and Effect by Ragdoll (Keshka) and was wondering if there are any other fics that feature Kirk having beamed down with Spock during the destruction of Vulcan and being able to save Amanda?

Summary of the first story of this series:

He thought Spock had to be absolutely nuts to want to go down there… and yet he still went. Because Jim knew what it was like to be willing to do anything to protect those you love, maybe not a mother, but then again, Winona had never been much of one, but M’aih… yeah, he understood. So he went.

Summary:

Spock is completing the unexciting work of observing the Kobayashi Maru exams when all of Starfleet Academy is summoned and sent off on a mission of mercy to assist Vulcan, which has sent out a distress signal. It is a respite from the mundane work of observing cadets taking the Kobayashi Maru exam, since it is a no-win scenario and the outcome never changes. However, he is catapulted into the adventure of a lifetime, alongside Captain Pike and the crew of the new Starfleet flagship, the USS Enterprise.
