My favorite characters have always been spies and vampires [and yes, I realize they have a lot in common ---see my "Children of the Night Affair" ]. I used to collect vampire fiction back in the 1970s and 1980s, but more recently, I've found the vamp stories have become too repetitive, cliched and, ummm... sparkly. weirdly there is a story I know about the vampire hunting Bishop of Lincoln [in england] in the 12 Century - one of Abe's vampire-kicking ancestors methinks.
