old Dark Tower pics on FB

Nov 30, 2009 21:09

For those not in my Facebook, mainly Scotty, I was asked to hunt up some old larp photos from Dark Tower days (troupe and Cam). As I find them and post them, they will be in this album, which is open to the public. The images are small (compared to today's huge pics), but hopefully I've got originals around somewhere that I can scan for bigger ( Read more... )

1998 is about the time I started LARP and I still do. I've graduated from the WoD stuff, and moved onto some indie LARPs that are actually quite good - which inspired my entire black and red (game of thrones colors) Tudor Tailor ensemble.

It's neat to see what other people were doing in LARP on the other coast.

We did WoD till the Camarilla was taken over by WW. My husband and I quit, then got married and had kids, so we haven't had much time for larps since, tho we do table top game (AD&D 4th ed now) every other week. Our area doesn't have anything other than WoD larps, and we don't have the energy to try anything else.

What better larps do you do?

There is a society here called LARPA, who create LARP games from scratch. Some are theatre style preplanned, so - you get a character sheet and a list of goals, and your stats aren't all that important. They have a catch-all-sci-fi "sliders" that I am in called "Threads of Damocles" They also run a LARP convention in Boston called "Inercon." Before WOD - there were one shot convention LARPs.

I ran changeling the dreaming, somebody used the new WOD system to run "Game of Thrones." I'm planning on running a cyberpunk LARP in the DC area next fall. I am in the process of writing a one shot convention style game based on AMC's "Mad Men."

Ah you played camarilla - I've played a bit of OWBN. Same game, different org. Observed org drama - didn't get too involved, but one of their members got me into it.

Those sound intriguing. My larp friend in the L.A. area also attends similar styled larps in her area that she writes about in her LJ. I would love to do similar stuff... I enjoyed doing murder mystery parties as a teen, which is why larps are so much fun for me ( ... )

Just as long as She Who Must Not Be Named isn't in them, too.

Uhhhhh... and which woman would that be again? It's been a long while, and I don't remember who had issues with whom.
