I've done a little more unboxing of stuff tonight, but it was more than I cared to do. Not that I care much about anything, as I've gone into a funk, and who knows when that will get kicked. It's a shame that he had to kill that snake. Snakes keep the rodents in check. And garden snakes aren't dangerous to humans.

Sigh.

I told him to leave it alone. While I have cats to also keep rodents in check, I figured it was helping the neighbors with their rodent problem, as they don't have outdoor cats. Poor snake.

I found a snake in our yard first year we moved here and I didn't know what was poisoness or not. My next door neighbor and his son came and got the snake then took it to the field down the street and set it loose.

My husband tonight said that he only realized while he was at work that maybe he should have done just that. {sigh}

He looked up the snake, and found out it was indeed a common garden snake, a California kingsnake, which eats poisonous snakes like rattlers and various rodents, isn't poisonous and make good pets. He was talking that maybe we might get a snake for me sometime, if we can find a location to house it properly.
