Effigy Progress (with pics!)

Jan 23, 2009 00:22

Well, while we watched Smallville, and two episodes of CSI (last week's and tonights), I also got the back seams hand sewn on the effigy bodies.

And I also have pics of the latest progress.

I'm working on a very similar corset at the moment, and I was about to bind each piece THEN sew them together because I was under the impression each piece was fully finished before assembly. But you've sewn them together and then bound them? Perhaps I need to rethink my order

That is what the drawings seem to show. I would have otherwise done the same as you were thinking of doing.

The back seams appear to already be finished, and there isn't a good image of the shoulder extensions to tell for sure. This is a picture of the sewn back seams.

The description is otherwise not the clearest.

hmm interesting. I turned under my back/side seams and topstitched down the edge before adding all my bones. But I was going to just bind the peices seperatly then assemble...I'll be interested if when you're finished you have any ah ha! moments that make you say "that's why it should be done this way!" maybe I'll do it the other way and we can compare notes.

That works for me. I should be working on the binding soon.
