Maurelle just read her first book to me. She is only 3 years, 2 months, 3 weeks and 5 days old, according to my ticker. Yes, she had help. And I think she's actually memorized what I've said before as much as she "read" the words. But she looked at the words as she said them to me, and she was the one who wanted to read to me!

Oh, and that's one of the books I bought for Cam that he had to read to me to get other books I'd bought. :-)

Congratulations! yay! Another reader in the world. Maybe even future bibliophile...

My mom has an old and tattered copy of a preschool newsletter. She kept it because there's a little section called "My favorite thing..." in which they asked some of the students what they like to do. I obviously don't remember this, but my quote was "I like to read, but I can't read yet."
