And ironically, when I viewed the article, their was a flash ad at the bottom pushing some beauty creme that's "better than Botox" with a woman whose face has been artificially aged with Photoshop "miraculously" loosing 50 years of aging. Advertising with random links always leads to tasteless things like this...
The beauticians are pretty amazing. We never consider how much of our self-image is tied up in our faces until something like this happens (or you read about it happening to someone else). And this is also part of the reason I hated the "burn victim" Nos in the Cam. It was something I found a pretty insensitive commentary on those who had been injured in such a way.
And yeah, there was this ad on tv last night as I was reading this, and they were promoting their anti-aging stuff (or whatever beauty snake oil it was) by saying something like "and it was given to the stars at a famous movie festival"... oh, wow, I so have to have it since it was "GIVEN AWAY" as a promo to some stars. Not like they actually use it, or there are scientific results on how it improves anything, just that it was given away. {head/hand}.
