When I have some time, I've been reading those books on fashion. Well, my recent book has been giving me the history, the true lowdown (as seen through the writer's eyes) of modern fashion and the modern ideals for thin beauties. If my age was my size, I would be HUMONGOUS!! And how about Grannies??!!

It really is scarey! I love Dove and their campaign for Real Beauty!

And Thanks! I used to do graphics for Penny Ladnier, of http://www.costumegallery.com/ and the Costume Classroom. I just thought it would be something different to have an animated gif showing the cleanup process of those old hand colored fashion plates.

tyra banks was recently jumped on by the media for a recent weight gain and she said that when she was a super model with the likes of Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, they were all a size 6. Can you imagine? Now we're at 00 for models. I love what Dove is doing, but really it's the fashion industry that has to step up.

I saw a clip of that Tyra banks reply, and I thought it was wonderful, although perhaps a bit strongly worded at the end.

I can't imagine a size 6 for a woman whose above 5'10". My mom, little tiny Japanese woman at 5'0" might have been a 6 or 4, and she was so very tiny and not even 95 pds at her healthiest weight. I can't picture that size on a taller, thinner woman. And I really have to wonder how healthy is it to be a size 00? I use paint brushes that are 00.

And yeah, the fashion industry does have to, but they just say the ladies are just walking clothes hangers. Bah! to them. They soooo need a spotlight on what they are doing and what it is doing to the public at large.
