Recipe Storage

How do you store your recipes? ?

I just wanted to throw this question out there in case someone has a brilliant system for storing their recipes.

I have a recipe box which is really inconvenient in terms of keeping stuff organized and my recipes tend to have numerous steps and hardly ever fit on a 3x5 index card.

I also use a 3 subject spiral ( Read more... )

I keep mine in a pretty pink floral 3-ring binder I found at Target. I use these to keep the recipes in...

I just keep the binder with the rest of my cook books.

Oh cool, so the protectors keep the pages clean. Cool, thank you!!!

I have a three ring binder thing that I use. It's most convenient for me because I print a lot of recipes from the internet which end up on a full size sheet of paper. It was a present so I don't know where it's from, but it has a cute "recipe" design on it and some food-type-tabs. It doesn't fit in any of my drawers either so i just leave it on the counter with some other recipe books!

Maybe 3-ring binder is the way to go then...I was sort of hoping to not leave it lying around the counter but I guess I should display all my cookbooks and make a decorative area with all my stuff!

I have a large recipe box (it was a gift from my wedding shower - people brought a favorite recipe) that can hold larger index cards... it works pretty well!

i also have a 3-ring binder and while it's a little "stiff", so are my hardcover cookbooks...

It's good to know there are larger recipe boxes out there. I just haven't been able to find them! I have a TON of the larger index cards you are talking about and that would definitely work for me. Thanks for the suggestion:)

I have a 3-ring binder, too. Then, I bought a box of those sheet protectors, and I slip the recipes in there. At one point, I was very anal and divided the recipes into categories. When I see a recipe I like out of a magazine (where I get most of my recipes) I tear it out and put it in one of the sheet protectors. This also helps to protect the recipe during cooking.
