The GCE 'O'-level results were released today. Met two parents in the gym, whose children did worse than they had hoped for. Spoke with them about education, and what people want. I guess the children are still the lucky ones, since these parents are likely to be able to put them through university overseas, if need be. It seems that the Joint ( Read more... )

from what i gathered from my friends, there is a income cap for the size of the HDB flat a couple can get.

i guess the mummying comes from too many mistakes made my parents such that they fear their child make the same errors too. I tend to be gulity of doing that too, eg spoon-feeding my students.... Only recently, I realise that the best way to make them survive is to make sure that i can prove that they have a mind of their own. =)

Yes, but is there any sense in capping income for the size of HDB flat? Does anyone question that?

to be honest, i am hesitant to add that it is always good to do a capping, afterall, it wld imply all young couples to be strapped with long housing loans.

What is the good of that? Good for the government, since the couple are so tied to the loan that they have to slave away, but what good is there to the couple?
