You shouldn't give up on people. Doing that is letting all the petty horrible people of the world win. Trust me there are people in the world that feel the same way that you do, they despair that they will never find someone they can trust. But there are people out there who are genuinely wonderful people. You shouldn't abandon those those kind souls.
